Gilgamesh? That's a Surprise
Jim has pointed out a very surprising find. Have they found the tomb of Gilgamesh? You know, the one who stars in the epic. That is an incredibly old find, about 4500 years. I hope that's true. It would just be ultra cool. If you're not familiar with him, check out this summary at Wikipedia.

Have you considered breaking your blog up into two blogs? I really don't think there are all that many people interested in both subjects. Perhaps every single one of them is reading your blog, and that is why you have readers, but it would seem to me that the majority of people in either field would find an entry that is at all technical in the other to be off-putting.
Very good question. I have considered breaking it up into two blogs, actually, but I'm certainly not going to do it. There are a number of ways to do a blog. One of them is to do a theme blog, like you do, and only post on one general topic. But that's not really what I'm trying to do. This blog is simply meant as an expression of thoughts I am having about things that I feel are significant. I see it more as a means of self-expression. Splitting it up into two wouldn't give me the same feeling.
Granted, most code dudes who follow don't care at all about the biblical studies stuff, and vice versa. But that's okay. I enjoy having a means of expression that combines the two, which is not something easy for me to do outside of cyberspace at the moment. Most of my friends really care about one but not the other. This dual subject thing will completely turn off some. That's fine. I'm all for getting a readership, but I'm more concerned about talking about both of the things I enjoy in the same breath.
I should post about this.
